Job Summary
Rail Maintenance Operative (Summarisation Technician) – Contract position (8‑month, potential extension) located in Bristol (BS34 7QG), inside IR35. Full time, rotating shift pattern (7:00 am–6:00 pm).
Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled maintenance activities on Class 800 rolling stock, including radiator cleaning, water tank chlorination, catering system chlorination and main transformer cleaning.
- Support servicing and preparation activities to ensure fleet availability.
- Complete maintenance tasks safely, efficiently and in line with established procedures.
- Assist with basic fault rectification and repairs where required.
- Accurately record work activities and stock usage through the maintenance management system.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across depot operations.
- Work closely with Team Leaders and Production Managers to deliver maintenance plans.
Qualifications & Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
- Proof of qualifications.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to commute within approximately one hour of Bristol (BS34 7QG).
- Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
- Practical, reliable and team‑focused approach.
Shift Pattern
Rotating shift: 7:00 am–6:00 pm.
- 5 days on, 4 days off
- 5 days on, 5 days off
- 4 days on, 5 days off
