The Role

As a Project Engineer you will support the delivery of integration tools to our customers, acting as a liaison between WSSE and Manufacturing. You will work closely with Project Leads and development teams to understand critical path activities and ensure on‑time delivery. The role requires deployment of existing software packages onto COTS hardware, compliance with safety and security documentation, and occasional support with documentation updates and shipping/export functions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with heterogeneous agile development teams to deliver simulations and representations of real equipment.
  • Deploy software packages on COTS hardware following load instructions.
  • Ensure safety and security documentation is followed as defined in the published design definitions.
  • Support documentation updates and shipping/export functions as needed.

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with COTS computer hardware.
  • Ability to follow software load instructions for installing software on COTS hardware.
  • Experience with operating systems such as Linux and Windows.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with diverse teams.
  • Ability to understand and support delivery plans to meet schedules.
  • Capability to provide solutions to emerging problems with plans.
  • Experience managing simple databases for asset management and tracking.
  • Proficiency in conducting software tests on deliverable equipment using pre‑existing test documentation.
  • Understanding of version and quality controls.
  • Professional behaviour and proven ability to meet deadlines.

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with continuous integration/development tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub) and automated build/test/deployment pipelines.
  • Practical knowledge of system integration principles and processes.
  • Understanding of software development practices.

Security clearance: UK SC level required.
