Our client, a leading company in the defence and security sector, is seeking an Embedded Software Verification and Validation Engineer to join their Real-Time Embedded software department. This is a permanent position that offers a fantastic opportunity to work on some of the world's most sophisticated defence systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking requirements and developing them into robust test cases
- Preparing and executing tests, capturing data, and delivering actionable feedback
- Working closely with project teams to ensure system components meet stringent verification and validation standards
- Delivering verification and validation activities in an embedded software environment
- Engaging in practical problem-solving and data acquisition tasks
- Utilising scripting abilities to enhance testing procedures
Job Requirements
- Strong experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for embedded software
- Embedded software development experience using Ada
- Proficiency in converting requirements into structured test cases and procedures
- Experience working in a lab environment on electromechanical products running embedded software
- Good working knowledge of the complete software engineering lifecycle
Desirable Skills
- Experience with safety‑critical systems
- Knowledge of standards like DefStan 00-55, DO-178C & DO-330
- Understanding of Real Time Operating Systems
- Model Driven Design experience
- Knowledge of test automation methods
- Experience with tools like DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, and LDRABreakpoint Analysis experience
- Experience of Focused Code Reviews
