I am recruiting for a Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join a forward thinking environmental consultancy in Bristol. This is a strong opportunity for a Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant who wants varied development-led work, clear progression and exposure to different planning and consenting regimes.

This Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant role supports projects across property, renewable energy and transport, delivering Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies and SuDS design at planning and early design stages. You will contribute to feasibility work, outline design and planning submissions, while working closely with internal specialists and external stakeholders to integrate sustainable drainage into site masterplans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
  • Develop and model drainage solutions using InfoDrainage or similar tools
  • Assist with SuDS design and masterplanning support
  • Produce planning reports and technical documentation
  • Liaise with clients, design teams and local authorities
  • Manage multiple live projects and contribute to collaborative delivery
About You
  • At least two years UK experience in flood risk or drainage planning
  • Confident using InfoDrainage or equivalent software
  • Good understanding of flood related planning policy and SuDS guidance
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
  • Proactive, organised and interested in sustainable development
