The role involves joining a maintenance team of three as the electrically biased engineer, reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The focus is on keeping production running through a combination of planned preventative maintenance and rapid fault resolution.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on control panels, PLCs, and inverter drives
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production and site equipment
- Support mechanical maintenance activities including bearings, belts, gearboxes, and pneumatics
- Fault find on automation systems including Siemens and Fanuc PLCs
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Complete electrical installation, modification, and improvement projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to root cause analysis
What you'll bring
Essential:
- Proven experience as an electrically qualified maintenance engineer in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent: NVQ Level 3 with distinction and substantial industrial experience considered)
- Solid working knowledge of 3-phase systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
- Working knowledge of health and safety standards including safe isolation and risk assessments
Useful (not essential):
- PLC fault-finding experience (Siemens or Fanuc)
- Mechanical maintenance experience alongside electrical skills
- Experience with inverter drives and variable speed drives
- 18th Edition Wiring regs Qualification a distinct advantage
