My client is a UK engineering manufacturing company based in West Yorkshire. They design, manufacture, install and commission industrial process machinery. Due to continued growth and an increase in workload, they are looking to recruit experienced Assembly Fitter / Welder Fabricators to join their production team on a temporary to permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reading and working from technical engineering and fabrication drawings
  • Assembling bespoke mechanical components and machine sections
  • Building and installing pneumatic and general pipework systems
  • Welding on all supporting steel structures and sheet metal fabrications to a high standard using MIG, in line with company processes and procedures
  • Checking parts against bill of materials (BOMs) for accuracy and condition
  • Carrying out quality inspections to ensure assemblies meet required tolerances

Key Requirements

  • Completed a Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship / NVQ or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar mechanical fitting and fabrication role
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
  • Understanding of welding symbols and processes
  • Experience in structural fabrication and working with large assemblies to tight tolerances
  • Confident using a wide range of hand and air tools
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
