The Role
- You will play a key part in keeping equipment moving, working on a wide range of equipment across mechanical and electrical systems:
- 70% mechanical / 30% electrical work
- Planned & preventative maintenance, plus reactive breakdowns
- Fault finding, strip down, inspection and rebuild of machinery
- Electrical fault finding on wiring, control panels and motors
- PLC fault diagnosis
- Installation, upgrade and commissioning of new equipment
- Working with hydraulic lifting systems
- MIG welding and racking repairs
- Maintaining mechanical handling equipment
- Driving improvements in equipment performance and reliability
- Condition based inspections (bearings, drives, alignment, wear components)
About You
- Recently completed an apprenticeship or an experienced fitter looking for a fresh challenge
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or time-served equivalent)
- Strong electro-mechanical fitting skills
- Confident fault finding on hydraulics, motors and control panels
- Basic knowledge of control systems and sensors
- Comfortable with physical work and occasional work at height
- Safety focused with a continuous improvement mindset
