The Role

As Surveying Manager, you will oversee a team of four Surveyors, ensuring the successful delivery of surveying services across the UK. You will play a key role in maintaining technical excellence, driving operational efficiency, supporting customer relationships, and developing best-in-class surveying standards. The position will involve regular travel across the UK, with flexibility to support projects nationally when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Surveyors across the UK
  • Ensure surveys are completed accurately, safely, and within agreed service levels
  • Support surveyors with technical guidance, development, and performance management
  • Oversee site surveys including roof measurements, drainage assessments, existing falls analysis, and tapered roofing set-out support
  • Act as a senior technical point of contact for customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with design, sales, and technical teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Support customer issue resolution and provide onsite technical investigations where required
  • Monitor surveying KPIs, reporting, and service performance
  • Drive continuous improvement across surveying processes, technology, and standards
  • Assist with technical and practical training for internal teams and external partners
  • Maintain the highest standards of health & safety and compliance when working at height

About You

  • Strong technical knowledge within the flat roofing or waterproofing industry alongside proven leadership experience
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring surveying or technical teams
  • Strong knowledge of flat roofing systems including built-up felt roofing, single-ply systems, liquid waterproofing, and experience carrying out technical roof surveys and assessments
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
  • A commercially aware and solutions-focused mindset
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and plans
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills
  • A proactive, adaptable, and hands-on approach

Requirements

  • Experience within roofing, waterproofing, or a related construction discipline
  • CSCS Card holder
  • Comfortable working at height
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NVQ Level 2 Skilled Worker qualification desirable
  • DBS check may be required
