The Role
As Surveying Manager, you will oversee a team of four Surveyors, ensuring the successful delivery of surveying services across the UK. You will play a key role in maintaining technical excellence, driving operational efficiency, supporting customer relationships, and developing best-in-class surveying standards. The position will involve regular travel across the UK, with flexibility to support projects nationally when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Surveyors across the UK
- Ensure surveys are completed accurately, safely, and within agreed service levels
- Support surveyors with technical guidance, development, and performance management
- Oversee site surveys including roof measurements, drainage assessments, existing falls analysis, and tapered roofing set-out support
- Act as a senior technical point of contact for customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Work closely with design, sales, and technical teams to ensure smooth project delivery
- Support customer issue resolution and provide onsite technical investigations where required
- Monitor surveying KPIs, reporting, and service performance
- Drive continuous improvement across surveying processes, technology, and standards
- Assist with technical and practical training for internal teams and external partners
- Maintain the highest standards of health & safety and compliance when working at height
About You
- Strong technical knowledge within the flat roofing or waterproofing industry alongside proven leadership experience
- Previous experience managing or mentoring surveying or technical teams
- Strong knowledge of flat roofing systems including built-up felt roofing, single-ply systems, liquid waterproofing, and experience carrying out technical roof surveys and assessments
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
- A commercially aware and solutions-focused mindset
- The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and plans
- Strong organisational and reporting skills
- A proactive, adaptable, and hands-on approach
Requirements
- Experience within roofing, waterproofing, or a related construction discipline
- CSCS Card holder
- Comfortable working at height
- Full UK driving licence
- NVQ Level 2 Skilled Worker qualification desirable
- DBS check may be required

- Circa £60,000-£70,000 salary (depending on experience)
