I’m currently working in partnership with a well-established, private planning consultancy to appoint a Senior Planner for their growing Birmingham office. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded planner who is looking to progress their career within a respected consultancy that offers strong client exposure, high-quality work, and a clear pathway for advancement.
The Role
- You will play a key role in delivering a varied portfolio of projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
- The successful candidate will be given real responsibility, managing projects from early-stage appraisals through to submission and determination.
- Managing planning applications and appeals independently.
- Preparing planning statements, site appraisals and strategic advice.
- Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and consultant teams.
- Attending client meetings and providing commercially focused planning advice.
- Supporting junior team members where appropriate.
About You
- Minimum 2 years RTPI PQE.
- 4-5+ years overall planning experience.
- Majority of experience gained within a consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
- Confident managing applications with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Midlands-based or willing to commute to Birmingham.
Working Pattern
This is a Birmingham-based role with an expectation of 4 days per week in the office, supporting collaboration and team culture.
