A well-established environmental consultancy is strengthening its Birmingham team and is seeking a Senior Hydrologist to lead delivery across flood risk, drainage and water resources projects. The Senior Hydrologist will work across the Midlands and wider UK, supporting public and private sector developments within a flexible working structure.
The Role
- Leading Flood Risk Assessments, SuDS strategies and hydrological modelling
- Producing high-quality technical reports for planning and development
- Supporting projects from feasibility through to detailed design
- Liaising with clients, local authorities and regulatory bodies
- Ensuring solutions are practical, compliant and cost-effective
- Mentoring junior engineers and reviewing technical outputs
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation and best practice
About You
This role suits an engineer ready to take the next step. You will ideally have:
- A degree in Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering or similar
- 3 to 5 years' experience in flood risk and drainage
- Chartered status or working towards it
- Experience with FEH, WINFAP, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW or HEC-RAS
- Strong communication and project delivery skills
