The Role

As M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for the mechanical and electrical packages across a range of projects from pre‑construction through to final account. You will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure effective cost management and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the commercial aspects of M&E packages on live projects
  • Procurement and management of specialist subcontractors
  • Preparing valuations, cost reports and forecasts
  • Managing variations, change control and final accounts
  • Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice
  • Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within construction or building services
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical packages
  • Experience working for a main contractor or specialist M&E contractor
  • Good knowledge of standard forms of contract
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Relevant construction or commercial qualification
