About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HSEQ Compliance Manager with our clients to join their Midlands Team. To be considered, you will come from a Construction or Civil Engineering Background.
Main Tasks/Accountabilities:
- Support the Group HSEQ Director in reviewing and updating the Group Health and Safety Management System
- Preparation, development, and dissemination of H&S standards across the Group (including H&S alerts etc.)
- Assist Group HSEQ Director in maintaining high corporate standards of HSEQ management across the Group
- Ensure timely compliance with future legislative trends and advise on H&S legislation and industry best practice
- Advise Business Units on practical implementation of H&S management system
- Plan, attain and maintain Group certification, including but not limited to ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001
- Conduct system audits to ensure compliance of Business Units/personnel against legislative, company and H&S standards
- Develop strategy for Group reporting of health and safety performance data - thereafter, collating information on health and safety performance and produce Group and Division monthly reports
- Review H&S information provided by Group personnel to ensure Group standards maintained
- Liaison with internal HSEQ professionals and external bodies as appropriate (including NQA, NR, TfL etc.)
- Education and training of personnel and Business Unit employees on Group and HS&E issues
- Participation in industry best practice forums
- Provide, on occasion, 'independent' assistance and review of major incident reporting
- Assess more accessible hosting platform for HSEQ Management System
- Project Manage following '5-Year Strategy' Initiatives:
- Review training matrix and re-establish in collaboration with Ops, HR and HSEQ - for all levels
- Review reporting structure, KPl's and lagging/leading indicators
- Review and revise Management system manual, policies, procedures and forms as required
- Roll-out of new HSEQ Policies and accompanying standards to business
- Priority Review of 'key' HSEQ Standards, incl. Plant, Lifting, CDM & Mobile Phone use
Skills/Qualifications Required for the Job:
- Knowledge of International Standards e.g. ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 etc
- Member of a professional organisation e.g. CQI, IRCA, NEBOSH etc
