Our client is a well-established manufacturer of sheet metal fabricated products based in central Birmingham, who due to ongoing success are seeking an enthusiastic Design Engineer to join their team, and produce manufacturing drawings with the use of AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor.

Responsibilities:

  • Using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor to create manufacturing / fabrication drawings for the workshop
  • Liaising with the manufacturing team to ensure drawings are understood and interpreted correctly
  • Producing 2D fabrication / weldments drawings
  • Logging CAD files onto the system, and creating Bill of Materials (BoM's)

Requirements:

  • Experience with AutoCAD and 3D modelling software such as Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor
  • Based in a commutable distance of Central Birmingham
  • 2+ years of experience in a Design Engineering role
  • Understanding of metal fabrication / sheet metal design is a distinct advantage
  • Good communication skills
  • IT literate

Remuneration and Working Hours:

  • Starting salary £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hour working week. Flexible start & finish times upon completion of probationary period.
  • 31 days holiday including bank holidays.
  • Pension
