With over 50 years of experience, we specialise in power distribution, automation, process environments, shutdowns, relocations, and turnkey electrical projects.
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery, testing, commissioning, and handover of industrial electrical systems on a variety of large-scale projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operating safely and efficiently in line with client specifications and industry standards.
The role involves working closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and site personnel to deliver high-quality commissioning activities within project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out commissioning and functional testing of industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, cable schedules, and technical documentation.
- Support installation teams during project delivery and provide technical assistance where required.
- Perform pre-commissioning inspections and identify defects or non-conformances.
- Test and verify LV power systems, control panels, MCCs, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Assist with fault finding, diagnostics, and system troubleshooting.
- Produce commissioning reports, test sheets, and handover documentation.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with current electrical regulations, site procedures, and health & safety standards.
- Liaise directly with clients, suppliers, and other contractors on site.
- Attend site meetings and contribute to project planning and progress updates.
- Support shutdowns, upgrades, relocations, and live industrial environments where required.
- Ensure work is completed to programme and within project deadlines.
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer within industrial electrical environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, controls, and automation.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience commissioning LV systems, control systems, and process equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- ECS/CSCS card.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
- Experience within automotive, manufacturing, food production, or process industries.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial automation.
