Overview
Are you ready to go on the road and take your technical skills to a dedicated network of customer sites? If so, then this could be the role for you. We are looking for a self‑motivated and independent Vehicle Engineer who can travel to our clients’ various workshops in a designated area providing a range of services. Your day starts when you start your vehicle. Your commute is from your front door to your fully expensed and kitted out Light Commercial Vehicle. In this role, no two days will ever be the same, and the products you work on will be diverse. HGVs, Ground Support GSE, RORO, Fire and rescue, Tractors and Tugs plus other bespoke operating platforms.
Responsibilities
- Callouts
- Preventative maintenance
- Emergency breakdowns
- Pre‑arranged servicing at rural sites
- MOT preparation
- Engine work and diagnostic investigations
- Correction of running defects
- Chassis and fabrication work
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Improvement of vehicle standards
- Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections
Qualifications & Skills
- Fully qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician or accredited via an authorised Apprenticeship.
- A Class 2 licence would be beneficial.
- Excellent understanding of vehicle technology, and ability to follow the repair process from fault analysis to completion.
- Strong problem‑solving ability with a can‑do mindset.
- Adherence to health and safety rules.
- Reliable, punctual, enthusiastic, proactive and an innovative thinker.
