Core of the Role
- Carrying out first-off, in-process, and final inspection
- Working from engineering drawings and checking tolerances
- Using manual measuring equipment (verniers, calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
- Identifying non-conformance, managing NCRs, and ensuring parts are reworked or scrapped appropriately
- Managing inspection flow via the ERP system and physical inspection areas
- Supporting new part approvals alongside senior management
Option A – NPI / Engineering Focus
- Supporting or leading new product introduction (NPI)
- Liaising with customers and internal teams on manufacturability
- Basic 3D CAD work (SolidWorks) – training available if needed
Option B – Quality Systems Focus
- Maintaining and improving the ISO 9001 system
- Supporting audits and continuous improvement activities
Option C – Additional Value (Not Essential)
- Health & Safety involvement (IOSH/NEBOSH beneficial but not required)
