Field Service Engineer

Imperium Automation is expanding its dynamic team of Field Service Engineers. This role covers various geographic regions and numerous OEM solutions across our client base.

This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment at customer sites, ensuring minimal downtime and excellent customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include

  • Providing shift cover and responding to breakdowns at multiple sites.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance on material handling and storage retrieval systems, conveyors, packaging machinery, robotics, etc., primarily at Distribution Centres.
  • Assisting with installations and projects.
  • Communicating effectively and integrating with client teams, representing Imperium Automation professionally.
  • Offering flexibility to meet client expectations (24/7/365 reactive maintenance support).

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 or apprentice trained electrical / multi-skilled.
  • Good understanding of PLCs.
  • Experience working in automated distribution centres.
  • Sound awareness of risk assessment, method statements, permits, and working safely.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience liaising with customers professionally.
  • IPAF trained and confident working at height and confined spaces.
  • Confident working independently and with customer engineering teams.
