Maintenance Engineer
Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: Up to £45,000
Shift: Panama 2s & 3s – Days & Nights
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and successful manufacturing business based in the Basingstoke area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to join a stable and growing business offering a competitive salary, excellent shift pattern and opportunities for further training and development.
The successful Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of production machinery, responding to breakdowns and working closely with the wider engineering and production teams to maximise equipment reliability.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and equipment.
- Respond to machinery breakdowns and complete reactive maintenance.
- Fault find and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.
- Complete repairs efficiently to minimise production downtime.
- Support continuous improvement and machinery reliability initiatives.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment remains operational.
- Complete engineering documentation and maintenance records.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety.
- Support engineering projects and equipment improvements where required.
Skills Required:
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer.
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering background.
- Experience within a manufacturing, production or FMCG environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Comfortable working a Panama 2s & 3s Days & Nights shift pattern.
- Relevant engineering qualification would be advantageous.
