Key Responsibilities:
- You will take ownership of the full tendering process, including:
- Preparing accurate, competitive tenders from drawings, specifications, and client documentation
- Building detailed rates from first principles for Bills of Quantities
- Completing precise measurement and take‑offs from construction drawings
- Leading target price reviews, tender analysis, and internal sign‑off processes
- Working closely with senior management to incorporate strategic, commercial, and delivery‑focused input
- Engaging suppliers and subcontractors to secure firm, competitive quotations
- Managing multiple tenders concurrently at various stages of development
- Requesting, tracking, and managing additional information from clients and design teams
- Attending pre‑ and post‑contract meetings to support bid clarification and mobilisation
- Handing over successful tenders to construction delivery teams with clear commercial insight
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, and value‑engineering solutions to strengthen bid competitiveness
Experience & Skills Required:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in groundworks and/or reinforced concrete structures
- Proven success converting tenders on projects up to £30m
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and technical constraints
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and thrive in a fast‑paced commercial environment
- High levels of accuracy, commercial awareness, and analytical capability
