Conrad Consulting is working with a leading consultancy delivering a major programme of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects currently under construction across the UK. We are seeking ambitious Assistant Commercial Managers looking to further develop their careers within the rapidly growing energy and renewables sector.
The Role
Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you will support the commercial and contractual management of live construction projects, assisting with contract administration, change management, commercial reporting, and cost control activities. This role offers exposure to complex infrastructure projects and an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the UK's energy transition sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Support contract administration activities across live projects.
- Assist with change management, compensation events, and variation assessments.
- Prepare commercial reports and project cost information.
- Monitor project expenditure and support cost control processes.
- Assist in contractor engagement and commercial correspondence.
- Support senior team members in managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
Requirements
- 3–5 years' experience within commercial management, quantity surveying, or contract administration roles.
- Experience gained on infrastructure, utilities, energy, renewables, power, or major construction projects.
- Working knowledge of NEC and/or FIDIC contracts.
- Understanding of change management and commercial reporting processes.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Experience working within a client, consultant, or contractor environment.
Desirable
- Exposure to Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
- Experience within energy, transmission, or renewables sectors.
