We are recruiting and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced transport planner with experience in hiab transport to work within the planning department and manage daily operations of our hiab fleet. We require previous experience in the planning and operations of Hiab vehicles in a previous role and the successful candidate must be keen to work with us to grow this department.
The successful candidate must have a proactive mindset and be able to positively manage and plan a team of drivers operating across the UK to maximise the efficient operations of the fleet. The successful candidate must also be customer focused and service driven.
With our FORS Silver fleet currently operating in the rail, construction, manufacturing, engineering and event sectors transporting all manner of products from rail ballast, modular buildings to concrete products and power equipment we have an excellent opportunity to grow the fleet and in turn for the successful candidate to progress further in their career here fully supported by an experienced senior team.
Responsibilities:- Transport planning and scheduling.
- Driver and vehicle management.
- Taking phone calls and dealing with general enquiries via email.
- Quoting and planning / managing vehicles on a daily basis.
- Developing business with clients and maximising opportunities.
- Input of data including entering/updating job files maintaining our transport planning system (Fleet Wizard).
- Developing and harnessing a positive working relationship with driving team.
- Experience of working in a transport environment operating hiab vehicles is essential.
- Must possess a good geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role and must possess knowledge of planning and routing with hiab vehicles.
- Good communicator, strong written and verbal communication skills, people orientated, good telephone manner, problem solver and an outgoing personality is a must.
- Able to work as part of a team, under own initiative and cope under pressure in a busy department.
- IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft and able to adapt to in-house bespoke systems.
- Current and valid UK driving licence.
