A precision engineering manufacturer is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The business supplies complex machined components to highly regulated industries and is investing in both its people and manufacturing capabilities. This role will play an important part in supporting manufacturing quality, customer requirements and continuous improvement across the business.

Quality Engineer Role:

  • Permanent, Full-time
  • Location: Oxfordshire, commutable from Oxford, Didcot, Abingdon, Witney, Banbury & Swindon
  • Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality engineering support across manufacturing operations.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings & determine suitable inspection methods.
  • Manage non-conformances and customer complaints using structured problem-solving tools (8D / 5 Why).
  • Support supplier quality activities & liaise with customers on quality-related matters.
  • Produce inspection reports and quality documentation.
  • Support internal and supplier audits where required.
  • Train operators on inspection techniques and measurement equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement activities across manufacturing & inspection processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to interpret complex mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Experience managing non-conformances and root cause investigations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Mechanical engineering background or apprenticeship.

Desirable:

  • Experience with CMM programming.
