Project Engineer – NW Total Engineered Solutions Ltd.
As a Project Engineer you will own the delivery of engineering projects from concept to completion, focusing on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. You will champion best practices, foster continuous improvement, and lead a culture of safety‑first thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret customer specifications, work instructions and drawings.
- Produce and review drawings for suitability for manufacture.
- Research technical information and quality documentation in response to customer requirements.
- Source equipment and produce purchase specifications to support procurement.
- Negotiate cost prices and lead times, and prepare tender documentation for smaller projects.
- Support project managers on larger projects by managing technical queries.
- Manage projects, offering guidance to the site team and working with the Project Manager to solve unforeseen issues.
- Develop programme plans and coordinate installation activity, ensuring timely delivery.
- Monitor project/task scopes and administer contracts to address contract change via NEC or standalone contracts.
- Identify efficiency gains and ensure resources/materials/equipment are available for site welding/assembly activity.
- Ensure equipment is built/installed to the customer’s drawings and information.
- Maintain strong client relationships through first‑class service.
What you need for the role
- Degree‑level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ability to produce and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions.
- Logical, analytical, and innovative thinking applied to a range of technical problems.
- Commercial awareness, including knowledge of NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contracts.
- Prioritisation of workshop loading, labour management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
How will you be rewarded?
Salary: £45,000‑£60,000 per annum (DOE). Hours of work: 37.5 hours, Monday‑Friday 8:00‑17:00 (including a short break Monday‑Thursday and extended 8:00‑12:00 on Friday).
