We are recruiting a Gas Engineer for a long-established engineering manufacturer in Birmingham, offering a total package of £60,000 to £65,000. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role working with industrial gas‑fired equipment, supported by a friendly and down‑to‑earth engineering team.
This Gas Engineer position offers structured work, full training on specialist equipment and an excellent work‑life balance, including a 1pm Friday finish and paid travel time.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned servicing of industrial gas‑fired equipment
- Work from pre‑planned schedules with clear job information provided
- Travel to UK customer sites approximately three days per week
- Access technical support from colleagues where required
- Support one major annual project involving approximately 12 nights away
- Ensure high standards of safety, quality and customer service
Package and benefits
- Total package £60,000 to £65,000
- Basic salary £45,000
- Company car plus paid travel time
- £3,000 discretionary bonus
- Medical benefit valued at £720
- Overtime paid after 8 hours per day, including travel
- 1pm finish every Friday
About you
- Experience as a Gas Engineer in industrial gas or commercial gas settings
- Relevant gas qualifications such as ACS, COCN1, ICPN1 or similar are welcome, current or lapsed
- Full UK driving licence and UK passport required
- Comfortable working in industrial environments including heat, dust, confined spaces and working at height
- Strong communication skills and team-focused approach
