Key Responsibilities
- Validate that the work of all engineers is performed to the required standards set out by Gas Safety Regulations and Sureserve Compliance.
- Identify gaps in an engineer’s knowledge and provide feedback to line managers where additional training is required.
- Visit sites for serious complaint jobs, document events, and record issues such as poor workmanship, gas safety concerns, and CO risks.
- Upload photographic evidence via PDA, along with full reports and recommendations.
- Ensure sufficient quality checks (QCs) are carried out across the area throughout the year to meet client needs and demonstrate standards are being achieved.
- Ensure engineers comply with all health and safety requirements: fit equipment, PPE, vehicles, ladders, and regular HSE checks.
- Confidently engage with client representatives and communicate relevant information through the correct channels.
- Understand servicing, breakdowns, and installation work to identify improvements in engineers’ working practices.
- Recognise that honest reporting is essential for development of engineers, the team, and the company.
- Resolve reasonable issues raised by tenants or clients.
- Record and report unsafe or poor workmanship constructively and professionally, ensuring sensitivity to avoid alarming tenants.
- Assess, mentor new starters and newly qualified engineers.
- Work independently, assess issues effectively and bring them to swift resolution.
- Work outside normal hours, travel extensively across business areas, and perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Ensure agreed targets are met and management systems are regularly updated.
- Fully research and understand each client’s contractual requirements.
- Actively seek industry updates and present them to the team during toolbox talks when required.
