We are currently looking for an Environmental Permitting Manager to join our friendly team based in the East Midlands. The successful candidate will be based in Quorn, Leicestershire, with the opportunity to work remotely. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will work in a small friendly team within the Land and Natural Resources (L&NR) function supporting the business on a diverse range of projects to obtain permits and licences for land, air and water for our quarries, concrete, asphalt and block plants.
  • Provide technical advice on the permits and licences required for new and existing operations in collaboration with the Operational, Strategic Planning and Circularity teams.
  • Manage and deliver a wide variety of permits and licences applications.
  • Identify changes to regulations and guidance that require new permits or affect existing permits and advise the business on actions required to become compliant.
  • Provide expert advice to the business relating to technical issues relating to permit conditions or associated environmental legislation.
  • Build and manage relationships with regulators.

What we are looking for

  • Relevant degree in an environmental or science related field.
  • Practical experience in managing permit applications and liaising with the Environment Agency and other regulators.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation including the Environmental Permitting Regulations, guidance, practices and procedures in the minerals, waste or water sector.
