Job Opportunity: Stock Condition Surveyor, DEA & Retrofit Assessor

TSA Surveying are currently working in partnership with a prominent building consultancy looking to add a contract surveyor to their team in Huddersfield.

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced professionals to undertake Stock Condition Surveys, Domestic Energy Assessments (DEA), and Retrofit Assessments on social housing properties. Using a tablet device, you will record property condition, energy efficiency, and compliance with housing safety standards.

Please note: Not all surveyors need to be qualified Retrofit Assessors. We welcome applicants with just a DEA accreditation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting stock condition surveys to assess the remaining lifespan of key components (e.g., kitchens, bathrooms)
  • Evaluating the internal and external condition of residential properties
  • Applying the HHSRS (Housing Health and Safety Rating System) to identify health and safety risks
  • Carrying out EPC assessments as a qualified DEA
  • Performing retrofit assessments (where applicable)

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Proven experience in stock condition surveying, energy assessments, or retrofit assessments
  • Accreditation as a Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA)
  • Retrofit Assessor qualification (desirable but not essential for all roles)
  • Familiarity with HHSRS
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in using tablets and survey software
