Key Responsibilities

  • Validate that all engineering work meets the required standards set by Gas Safety Regulations and Sureserve Compliance.
  • Identify gaps in engineers' knowledge and provide feedback to line managers where additional training is required.
  • Handle serious complaint jobs, visit sites, and document events, including poor workmanship, gas safety concerns, and CO risks.
  • Upload photographic evidence via PDA, submit full reports, and provide recommendations after each visit.
  • Ensure sufficient quality checks (QCs) are carried out across the area throughout the year to meet client needs and demonstrate that standards are being achieved.
  • Ensure engineers comply with all health and safety requirements; all issued equipment must be fit for purpose and free from defects, including PPE, vehicles, and ladders.
  • Conduct regular HSE checks with each engineer within the geographical contract area.

Communication & Standards

  • Confidently engage with client representatives and communicate relevant information through the correct channels.
  • Understand servicing, breakdowns, and installation work (where required) and identify ways to improve engineers' working practices.
  • Recognise that honest reporting is essential for the development of engineers, the team, and the company.

Customer & Quality Management

  • Resolve any reasonable issues raised by tenants or clients.
  • Record and report unsafe or poor workmanship in a constructive and professional manner, ensuring sensitivity to avoid alarming tenants.

Training & Development

  • Assess and mentor new starters and newly qualified engineers.

Work Ethic & Flexibility

  • Be self‑motivated and capable of working unsupervised.
  • Assess issues effectively and bring them to a swift resolution.
  • Work outside normal hours, extensive travel across business areas, or additional tasks may be required.

Performance & Continuous Improvement
