About the Role
At Buy It Direct, we are seeking a professional, customer-focused Gas Registered Engineer/Installer to join our Driven installation team based out of Luton. We have full and part time opportunities available to fit around you. You will be responsible for delivering, installing, and testing domestic appliances (including gas appliances), HVAC products, and furniture in customers' homes across the Southern region. This is a customer-facing role in which you will be the sole in-home representative of Buy It Direct, so delivering a high standard of service is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Check vehicle, load, and planned route before departure
- Drive safely and efficiently (monitored via vehicle telematics)
- Deliver, install, and test appliances in line with company workflows
- Install gas appliances in compliance with Gas Safe regulations
- Uninstall and remove old appliances, packaging, and returns
- Ensure all tracking and job information is accurately captured
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction
Performance Measures
- Successful delivery and installation
- Time taken to complete deliveries and installs
- Customer advocacy and satisfaction
What We're Looking For
- Gas Safe Registered (essential for installing gas appliances)
- CKR1 (essential)
- HTR1 (ideal)
- Previous experience installing white goods/kitchen appliances
- Full UK Driving Licence (max 6 points, no serious offences)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work from plans and detailed instructions
