Gas Engineer – Dual Fuel Smart Meter Upskilling Programme

Are you a qualified single fuel gas engineer with at least two years' experience, looking to develop your skills and progress into dual fuel smart metering?
We are recruiting gas engineers across Cumbria to join a
10-week training programme, gaining the skills required to become a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer. Following successful completion of the programme and required assessments, you will move onto a dual fuel wage.
The opportunity
- Complete a structured 10-week programme to upskill from single fuel gas to dual fuel smart metering.
- Build on your existing gas experience while developing your electrical metering knowledge and practical skills.
- Progress into a dual fuel engineering role covering Cumbria.
- Move onto a dual fuel wage once successfully qualified.
Your responsibilities
- Participate fully in the training programme and complete the required assessments.
- Following qualification, install, exchange and commission gas and electricity smart meters safely and accurately.
- Carry out relevant safety checks and report faults or issues.
- Explain how smart meters and in-home displays work to customers.
- Complete accurate job records and maintain a professional standard of customer service.
- Follow company procedures and relevant health and safety requirements.
What we're looking for
- A qualified single fuel gas engineer with at least two years' relevant experience.
- A strong commitment to safe working and quality workmanship.
- A willingness to learn and complete the full 10-week training programme.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach when working in customers' homes.
- Based in Cumbria, or able to cover the area.
