We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.
As our Civil Site Team Leader within our Construction Team, you will supervise projects from inception to completion on our Anglian Water contract based in Colchester. Working under the Site Manager, you will manage day-to-day site operations, leading delivery teams and sub-contractors to ensure works are completed safely, on programme and within budget across multiple concurrent projects.
- Accountable for SHEQ performance, implementing and monitoring health, safety, environmental, quality and performance standards. This includes completing and recording SHEQ inspections, toolbox talks, risk assessments, method statements, personal health and safety checks and MTRAs.
- Drive positive safety culture, ensure near misses are reported, and promote waste reduction through efficient working practices and recycling initiatives.
- Coordinate with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors and internal teams; attend progress and review meetings; monitor legislative, programme and SHEA compliance.
- Ensure welfare facilities are maintained, all personnel are suitably trained and qualified, and that all corporate, SHEQ and business briefings and inductions are delivered, recorded and retained correctly.
Knowledge and experience in the water industry:
- Certificate in Site Safety Management (or attended 5-day course)
- Trained and experienced in Civil Installations in the construction industry
- Effective manager of sub-contractors, with the ability to influence client judgement
- Basic management training, skills & experience, with a good understanding of legislative and corporate SHEQ / Industry / Legal requirements
- Comprehensive IT abilities including MS Suite, alongside good project and programme management skills
- Good communicator, able to convey detailed data to a non-data literate audience and pass on skills
- Site-based role requiring regular communication with the construction and delivery team based in the local office
