At Fairhive, we’re growing our renewable services and are looking for a skilled Renewable Operative to help deliver high‑quality, sustainable heating solutions across our homes. This is a great opportunity to develop your expertise in air source heat pump systems while making a genuine difference to comfort, safety, and energy efficiency.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for delivering a full range of air source heat pump (ASHP) services across occupied and void properties, including servicing, repairs, fault diagnosis, and supporting installations.

Key responsibilities

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing air source heat pumps and domestic heating systems.
  • Diagnosing faults and delivering a right‑first‑time, cost‑effective solution.
  • Inspecting properties to assess and plan required works.
  • Recording all work accurately using a PDA system.
  • Supporting both planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider heating team, including supporting gas servicing when required.
  • Providing a professional, friendly service that ensures a positive customer experience on every visit.
  • Participating in a call‑out rota to support emergency repairs outside of normal working hours.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a skilled tradesperson with strong technical knowledge and a customer‑first mindset.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Plumbing, Heating, or Mechanical Installation (or equivalent).
  • ACS qualifications and Gas Safe registration.
  • Experience working with domestic heating systems, ideally including air source heat pumps.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability.
  • Good IT skills (PDA / job systems).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
