Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Piping Engineer with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry based in Aberdeen. This is a 12-month contract role with the option of hybrid working.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through:
  • Executing assigned scopes of work
  • Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
  • Providing discipline expertise to the business
  • Coaching and mentoring as delegated
  • Manage and supervise direct reports
  • Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
  • Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
  • Provide discipline support to the business
  • Check and approve piping design documentation
  • Check and approve piping engineering documentation
  • Approval of PED technical files
  • Utilise Client's standards for pipework design and procurement
  • Selection of piping materials for specific applications
  • Specification of piping materials, manual valves, pipe fittings and flanges
  • Completion of technical evaluations on piping materials and fittings
  • Review and approval of vendor documentation and certification
  • Review of PDMS/E3D model for piping and plant layout
  • Review of PDMS/E3D model for clash checking
  • Review of dimensional control survey data for clash checking
  • Review of cloud scan survey data for clash checking
  • Provide technical expertise

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience
  • Chartered Engineer or recognised equivalent
  • Competent in own discipline to provide support to the business
  • Demonstrate current knowledge with industry and technology development within discipline
  • Communication in written and spoken forms
  • Participate in audit and incident investigations as required
