What The Day Will Look Like

  • You’ll need to be innovative, demonstrating not just a technical ability to follow a programme and project methodology but the confidence and skill to tailor the delivery approach to match challenges as they occur.
  • Hands-on ownership with a critical eye for detail, is key to being successful in this role.
  • You’ll be working closely with the Risk and Compliance function and business leaders to shape and deliver risk and regulatory projects/programmes, identifying internal and external resources required to complete the change successfully.
  • Ensuring adherence to project management and governance principles and methods.
  • Managing the project team to ensure successful delivery.
  • Working closely with sponsors and stakeholders, ensuring delivery against project outcomes and plans.
  • Contributing to the development of change methodologies and the operation of the Team; and the promotion of strong project management disciplines and ethos across the organisation.
  • Providing insightful reporting on project progress to key stakeholders.
  • Building trusted working relationships, ensuring all levels of stakeholders are appropriately engaged.
  • Where applicable supporting the Programme Manager and Portfolio Director.

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

  • Expertise in Project and Programme Management: Demonstrated mastery of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with a pragmatic approach to applying these frameworks to complex regulatory, compliance, and risk initiatives. Proven ability to lead large-scale projects from initiation through to closure, ensuring delivery of outcomes under tight regulatory deadlines while maintaining quality and governance standards.
  • Regulatory Knowledge and Change Leadership: Comprehensive experience in UK regulation, compliance, and risk management, gained through consulting or senior in-house roles, with additional EMEA and global exposure highly desirable. Skilled in delivering regulatory change programmes arising from major frameworks and reviews, including Consumer Duty, Data Privacy and Protection, Operational Resilience, Cybersecurity, SoX, SM&CR, IDD, GI Pricing, Financial Crime, Section 166 investigations, and FCA thematic deep dives.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Ability to initiate, grow, and maintain strong relationships across all organisational levels, including executive sponsors, business leaders, and subject matter experts. Adept at influencing diverse stakeholder groups, negotiating resources and budgets, and resolving conflicts to secure approvals and embed processes. Highly skilled in crafting compelling presentations and business cases for senior leadership audiences.
  • Digital Innovation and Multi-Priority Leadership: Experience leveraging AI and advanced digital tools to optimise project delivery, administration, and reporting. Proven capability to manage multiple priorities concurrently, lead teams under pressure, and maintain professionalism in high-stakes environments. Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, cost control, and contract interpretation.
  • Advanced Problem-Solving and Leadership Skills: Equipped with sophisticated problem-solving methodologies to address complex challenges. Demonstrated success in motivating teams, facilitating project meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and driving collaboration across functions. Recognised for leadership qualities that inspire confidence and deliver measurable results in large, complex programmes.
