Your role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Engineering Consultant with a strong background in naval platforms, maritime systems, and defence engineering. You will support major UK surface ship and submarine programmes, act as a technical authority, and guide our clients through complex engineering challenges across the naval lifecycle.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer with both deep technical knowledge and the consulting skills to influence stakeholders, shape engineering strategy, drive and project manage, project delivery in a regulated defence environment.
Your profile: We're seeking an experienced maritime engineering professional with a strong technical background and deep knowledge of UK naval defence. You'll bring over a decade of expertise in naval systems, ship or submarine design, systems integration, or other high‐integrity marine environments. Alongside technical excellence, you'll be confident engaging with senior defence stakeholders, navigating formal frameworks, and communicating complex concepts clearly. This role suits someone who thrives in high‐assurance environments and can contribute meaningfully to major maritime programmes.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine/Mechanical/Electrical/Systems Engineering or similar.
- 10+ years in UK naval defence or maritime engineering.
- Expertise in one or more areas: systems integration, naval architecture, propulsion & power, combat/mission systems, survivability & signatures, mechanical/electrical systems, safety engineering.
- Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder‐influencing skills; experience working within defence engineering frameworks.
- Comfortable operating in classified or sensitive project environments.
