The selected candidate will report to the Project Manager for Howmet Engines IGT growth initiative, providing project management, procurement and business analyst support for the project. This position will support the business growth activities for our Industrial Gas Turbine Segment and work closely with key stakeholders in support of the project.
Project Support:
- Provide operational and analytical support to project managers by coordinating day-to-day activities, aligning tasks with strategic objectives, and ensuring project teams have the resources and information needed to execute effectively.
- Assist in project planning, data analysis and prioritisation by contributing to scope definition, timeline development, and resource forecasting to maintain alignment with organisational goals.
- Support governance and compliance activities by ensuring project processes follow internal standards, procurement policies, and quality expectations.
Data Analysis:
- Collect, validate, and interpret project performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement across cost, schedule, and resource and capacity utilisation.
- Summarise our capacity position, bottlenecks from data provided from each IGT location and evaluate business cases for growth projects.
- Develop dashboards and analytical reports that translate complex data into actionable insights for project managers and leadership.
- Conduct root-cause analyses when issues arise, providing evidence-based recommendations to improve project outcomes and prevent recurrence.
- Analyse our financial performance data within the IGT locations, RONA, Global PnL analysis in order to drive business recommendations.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including charters, schedules, risk logs, procurement records, and change requests to ensure transparency and audit readiness.
- Prepare structured status reports that summarise progress, risks, financial updates, and key decisions for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and version control by maintaining organised repositories and enforcing documentation standards across project teams.
Monitoring Progress:
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure work is progressing according to plan and identify deviations early.
- Perform risk and issue assessments by evaluating potential impacts, documenting mitigation strategies, and escalating concerns when necessary.
- Support budget and procurement monitoring by reviewing expenditures, validating vendor invoices, and ensuring alignment with approved financial plans.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as a communication bridge between project teams and stakeholders by delivering clear, timely updates on progress, risks, and decisions.
- Facilitate feedback loops through meetings, surveys, and review sessions to gather input that informs continuous improvement.
- Support change management activities by preparing communication materials, documenting impacts, and helping stakeholders adapt to new processes or systems.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of project management / analyst experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time - national/international.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office with high skill-set focus on Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform metrics and reports on various data collections.
- Strong problem resolution skills in support of business planning, strategy development / deployment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation.
- Must hold the right to work in the UK.
