The EI Benevolent Fund (EIBF) helps members, former members, and their dependents experiencing hardship by providing financial assistance and confidential advice.

We are seeking a dedicated

Chair to lead our committee in shaping the future of the fund, ensuring its effective governance, and promoting its mission to support those in need.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Energy Institute members while working alongside a compassionate and committed team.

The Chair will provide strategic leadership, uphold the fund’s governance, and act as its ambassador.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the committee in the efficient and effective management of the fund, ensuring compliance with governance documents.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the Benevolent Fund, promoting its work and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Report annually to the

EI Council on the fund’s activities, impact, and financial stewardship.

  • Oversee decision‑making on welfare and educational assistance applications.
  • Work closely with the

Secretary and EI staff to ensure smooth operations.

  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and transparent committee culture.
  • Ideal Candidate
  • Strong leadership and governance experience, ideally within charitable or member‑support organisations.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills to represent the fund.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to guide the fund’s long‑term development.
  • Empathy and discretion in handling sensitive cases.
  • Willingness to dedicate
