Energy Exemplar's EMEA Data Team is at the forefront of developing comprehensive short and long-term energy market modeling datasets, available for purchase alongside our cutting-edge PLEXOS market modeling software platform. A crucial aspect of this team’s focus is on Electricity Datasets, meticulously covering the supply and demand dynamics for historical and future markets. Our Data Team Analysts play a pivotal role in the crafting of commercial and simulation-ready energy market modelling datasets tailored specifically for European energy markets. However, these responsibilities extend beyond dataset development; they involve close collaboration with the wider global team, including technical experts, to contribute to the continuous calibration, tuning, and enhancement of data quality and modelling methodologies used across our datasets. The role encompasses the comprehensive review of energy markets and fundamentals, where you will diligently gather data and curate them into energy models for in-depth analysis. We seek a candidate who not only possesses but is enthusiastic about further developing a profound understanding of energy market fundamental drivers. This includes but is not limited to the demand/supply balance across Europe for electricity wholesale markets, generation dynamics, and emerging technologies. The successful candidate will leverage this understanding to produce sophisticated PLEXOS-based models, capturing both the current landscape and future trajectories of European power markets. Additionally, knowledge of hydrogen and/or gas markets would be highly beneficial, contributing to the holistic approach we take in shaping the future of energy modeling.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Innovative Model Development: Lead the creation and enhancement of PLEXOS energy market models, integrating industry best practices and staying ahead of evolving modeling techniques to maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaborative Calibration and Forecasting: Work closely with the data team to calibrate datasets and integrate forecast data for high-quality PLEXOS model outputs. Collaborate with the technical team to incorporate additional data sources, improving model accuracy.
- Cross-Team Coordination: Drive initiatives across the Indian Data Centre, technical, and product teams, ensuring effective collaboration to improve data quality and refine modeling methodologies.
- Analytical Reporting: Produce insightful reports that translate complex modeling results into actionable insights, supporting informed decision-making.
