We are actively recruiting for a Lead PCB Solder Processing Engineer to join our team in Cheltenham. This is a great opportunity for an experienced process engineer to come on board and utilise their experience in PCB Manufacturing to identify and facilitate the delivery of process improvements, lead & co-ordinate complex shop floor issues that will help determine the most effective and lean method of manufacture.
This role will oversee a small team prioritised on improving all our solder processes. It is essential that candidates have an in-depth knowledge of these processes and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities

Own all solder process within the PCB manufacturing shop.
- Responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements across all owned processes.
- Responsible for coaching junior members of the team within relevant process engineering disciplines.
- Own and report out on process health improvement projects.
- Identify industry trends and ensure alignment of manufacturing processes.
- Ensure that the organisation’s manufacturing processes comply with relevant policies and aerospace regulations.
- Perform risk and mitigation assessments.
- Identify/evaluate improvement opportunities.
- Co-ordinate and support the requirements needed from ME.
- Proactively manages workload.
- Communicates to internal customers and functional leadership.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor\’s degree from an accredited university or college or HNC/HND.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Significant PCB Manufacturing experience.
- Experience managing projects in fast paced environment.
- Experience in Aerospace, Military, Manufacturing, or similar sector.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office-based applications (Excel/Powerpoint)
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in industrial engineering, working knowledge of VSM, capacity analysis and time study frameworks.
- Knowledge of GE business-related systems (TIP QA, Proficy, Oracle).
- Six Sigma – Green Belt or higher.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
