Job Description Summary
At Dowty (a GE Aerospace company) we are recruiting for a Lean Leader who will be responsible for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives using GE Aerospace\’s proprietary FLIGHT DECK lean operating model.
In this opportunity you\’ll apply the Lean principles to optimise processes, enhance safety, improve quality, ensure on-time delivery, and reduce costs (SQDC). As the Lean Leader you\’ll report into the Dowty Global Flight Deck Leader and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable improvements, foster a culture of problem-solving and support effective implementation of strategic and operational business plans.
\”Flight Deck \” at GE Aerospace refers to a proprietary lean operating model designed to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and alignment with the company\’s priorities of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). It incorporates elements of Lean methodologies such as Kaizen, Kata, Hoshin Kanri, and Standard Work, tailored specifically to the Dowty / GE Aerospace needs and goals.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the application of Flight Deckmethodologies to drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), with safety as the top priority

Coach, drive and lead Lean behaviours, principles, and tools across operational or functional area. Drive cultural transformation resulting in step-change in operational business metrics

Facilitate workshops, Kaizen events, and training sessions to build Flight Deckcapabilities across the business
-
Champion change across the organization to foster the growth in Lean culture
-
Analyse processes to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions aligned with lean principles
-
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by engaging employees at all levels and encouraging problem-solving behaviours
-
Ensure sustainability of improvements through standard work, documentation, and regular audits
-
Act as a change agent to challenge the status quo and inspire innovation within the Flight Deck framework.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

Demonstrable experience of lean deployment and execution within a manufacturing environment

Significant understanding of lean/continuous improvement principles and tools
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making
-
Comprehensive experience in delivering presentations with the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels

Significant communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across all levels of the organisation

Experience in project and change management

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong technical skills.
