We are hiring Communications Engineers to join our friendly, inclusive team. Competitive salary starting at £26,288 (up to £33,000 OTE and £3,000 London Weighting Allowance for those based within M25), 30-35 days holiday, and a supportive work environment with great career growth opportunities. What it’s like to be a Communications Engineer:

  • You’ll receive your own company van, and once fully trained, you’ll be self-sufficient — travelling from home to your planned jobs each day.
  • The vast majority of work is carried out alone, with occasional two-person jobs.
  • At each job you will install or fix issues with communications devices on our automated gas or electricity meters.
  • You’ll have a high level of autonomy and be responsible for:
  • Personal stock management — restocking your van and returning old stock via a personal drop-box facility, or local stores.
  • Timekeeping — ensuring you attend planned jobs in good time.
  • Safety — maintaining safety for yourself and those around you, with full training and ongoing support on all health and safety aspects, and reporting any unsafe situations.
  • Customer service — representing and protecting our Energy Assets brand.

What it takes to become a Communications Engineer:

  • Full UK driving license (you will travel in your own van).
  • Comfort using a mobile phone, as logistics for your day are coordinated via a company-provided mobile.
  • No heavy lifting; the role is well suited to those with basic DIY skills or who enjoy fixing or building things.
  • Good communication skills for direct customer interactions and coordination with colleagues across the business.
  • Basic DBS check; random drug and alcohol tests may be conducted.
  • No experience is necessary as full training is provided; experienced Communications Engineers are also welcome.
