Role Overview
A Dual Fuel Metering Engineer is responsible for installing, exchanging and maintaining gas and electricity meters, along with associated communication systems, in line with industry standards and company procedures. This is a field-based role requiring independent working, effective time management and a strong focus on safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, exchange and maintain gas and electric meters (SMETS2 and standard metering)
- Carry out remedial work on AMR/communication issues
- Ensure all work complies with industry codes of practice and company standards
- Manage vehicle stock levels effectively
- Complete all job-related documentation accurately and on time
- Identify and report unsafe situations
- Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
- Deliver professional and effective customer service
Person Specification
- MET1 (Gas) qualification
- Minimum 12 months’ dual fuel metering experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in SMETS/AMR electrical metering
- Experience installing single phase meters from multi-way heads
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- IT literate (Microsoft Office)
- Full, clean UK driving licence
