Energy Aspects is seeking a Head of HR to help support and lead the People function at a pivotal moment in our growth. This is a senior role that combines direct business partnering and line management of HR colleagues. You will play a crucial role as the direct Business Partner for our Market Intelligence client group, building deep relationships with senior research leaders and supporting the full spectrum of their people needs. At the same time, you will take responsibility and line management of HR colleagues to ensure a seamless, strategic alignment across HR. Reporting to the Director of People, as her deputy and potential successor, this role will be at the heart of our People function and plays a central part in translating EA's people strategy into tangible impact across our highest value teams. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable operating as a trusted confidant to senior stakeholders and as a coaching leader who brings out the best in their team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the dedicated HR Business Partner for the Market Intelligence client group, building trusted relationships with senior leaders including the executive heads of Market Intelligence, and delivering strategic and operational people support across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Lead, coach and develop our HR colleagues setting clear expectations, supporting their professional development, and maintaining a high standard of delivery across the team.
  • Partner with the Director of People and wider leadership to co-design and execute people programmes and strategies that strengthen EA's culture, including performance management, compensation cycles, talent development, employee engagement and retention.
  • Act as a trusted coach to senior leaders and line managers across your client groups, building their confidence and capability to lead their people effectively.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to maintain a clear and current view of employee and management sentiment, translating that insight into actionable recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and resolution support in the event of workplace conflict or employee relations matters, ensuring outcomes that are fair, consistent and legally sound.
  • Facilitate your client groups through organisational change, supporting restructures, role design and workforce planning with minimal disruption.
  • Work closely with Finance and Talent Acquisition to ensure workforce plans for your client groups are accurate, current and support effective cost forecasting.
  • Use people data and HR metrics to inform decisions, demonstrate impact and identify emerging trends before they become issues.
  • Champion diversity, equity and inclusion across all client groups, embedding inclusive practices into hiring, development and day to day people management.
  • Partner with Reward, Talent Acquisition and Learning and Development subject matter experts to ensure seamless delivery of all people programmes across your client groups.
  • Ensure employment law compliance across all jurisdictions relevant to your client groups, proactively identifying and mitigating risk.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience as a senior HR Business Partner, ideally within a fast growing or scaling organisation in research, financial services or professional services.
  • Experience managing or mentoring other HR professionals, with a genuine enthusiasm for developing people within the People function itself.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent, with deep working knowledge of employment law, HR best practice and people policies.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to build credible, influential relationships with research, technical and commercial leaders.
  • Excellent coaching and facilitation skills, with the confidence to challenge and support senior stakeholders in equal measure.
  • A data literate mindset with demonstrable experience using HR metrics and workforce analytics to drive decisions.
  • Comfortable working independently and with initiative, managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A reputation for integrity, sound judgment and a genuine sense of ownership over outcomes.
  • Experience supporting client groups with a mix of analytical, technical and commercial profiles is a distinct advantage.

Desirable Skills

  • Prior experience partnering with a research or market intelligence function, with an appreciation for what motivates and retains expert analytical talent.
  • Exposure to technology or product teams and familiarity with the people dynamics of fast moving, highly skilled technical functions.
  • Experience leading a business partnering team through a period of organisational change or significant headcount growth.
