Position Summary
To provide dedicated Health and Safety support to the Washington Plant.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the Health and Safety and Environmental Management systems to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standard including updating and implementing policies and procedures when required.
- Review and update the legal register as required.
- Manage the risk assessment process.
- Oversee first aid arrangements.
- Organise and deliver training.
- Update HSE Metrics.
- Write and issue reports as required.
- Write and issue Health and Safety briefings.
- Carry out regular safety audits and tours.
- Carry out Health and Safety & Environmental monitoring and assessments.
- Chair health and safety meetings and issue minutes.
- Coordinate accident and incident investigations including maintaining logs, statistics and ensuring actions are complete.
- Liaise with the HSE and other regulatory bodies as required.
- Develop and run health and safety initiatives.
- Manage PPE.
- Oversee Contractors procedures and permits to work.
- Any other duties commensurate with the position as and when required.
What we are looking for
- Qualified to a minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate level.
- At least 5 year’s experience of Health, Safety and environmental practice in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience as an internal auditor.
- Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential.
- Must have practical auditing experience of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
