Job purpose

We are looking for an experienced Part 1 / Advanced / Part 2 Scaffolder to join our team and support the safe, efficient and professional delivery of scaffolding projects across residential, commercial and construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for erecting, adapting and dismantling scaffolding structures to a high standard, including more complex scaffold designs where required. You must be confident working at height, reading scaffold drawings, leading other scaffolders when needed, and ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with current UK scaffolding standards and site requirements. This role is suited to someone reliable, safety-focused and experienced in managing day-to-day scaffolding tasks on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Erect, adapt and dismantle scaffolding structures safely and efficiently.
• Work on advanced scaffolding systems and more complex scaffold designs.
• Read and interpret scaffold drawings, design briefs and site instructions.
• Ensure scaffolds are built in line with TG20 guidance, NASC standards, site rules and company procedures.
• Carry out pre-use checks and ensure scaffold structures are safe before handover.
• Support scaffold inspections and report any defects, unsafe conditions or required alterations.
• Lead or support scaffold teams on site, including basic scaffolders, labourers and trainees.
• Ensure correct use of scaffold materials, including tubes, fittings, boards, beams, ladders, gates and safety equipment.
• Maintain safe access and egress for workers, residents, clients and members of the public.
• Follow all working-at-height procedures, including the correct use of harnesses and fall protection.
• Ensure scaffold tags, handover certificates and relevant site paperwork are completed where required.
• Communicate professionally with site managers, clients, contractors and other trades.
• Identify site risks, including overhead services, fragile surfaces, public access, traffic, poor ground conditions and adverse weather.
• Keep work areas tidy and ensure materials are stacked, loaded and transported safely.
• Assist with loading and unloading scaffold equipment from vehicles.
• Follow RAMS, site-specific method statements and health and safety requirements at all times.
• Stop work and report any unsafe activity, defective equipment or serious safety concerns immediately.

Required Skills and Experience

• Valid CISRS Advanced or Part 2 Scaffolder Card.
• Strong experience in tube and fitting scaffolding.
• Good understanding of TG20 guidance, NASC requirements and UK working-at-height regulations.
• Ability to read and work from scaffold drawings.
• Confident erecting more complex scaffold structures.
• Strong awareness of health and safety within scaffolding industry.
• Ability to lead a small team and support less experienced scaffolders.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude on site.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work to deadlines.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to site conditions.
• Ability to inspect own work and maintain high standards.
• Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential.
• HGV or scaffold lorry experience beneficial but not essential.
