Energis is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee and coordinate mechanical engineering projects within our clients' organisation. Based from their site in South Down, the successful candidate will support projects from initial technical assessment through installation and commissioning, working closely with customers, manufacturers, and internal teams. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results. The ideal applicant will possess strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret client project requirements
- Liaise with manufacturers and engineers to develop technical solutions
- Assess site conditions and advise on structural and electrical requirements
- Carry out site surveys and support equipment ordering and production planning
- Coordinate installation logistics, access equipment, and site requirements
- Assist with risk assessments, commissioning, and handover documentation
- Provide technical support for service, inspection, and maintenance activities
Requirements
- Qualification or background in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Previous experience working with heavy/industrial machinery
- Basic understanding of electrical systems is desirable
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work on-site
Salary is in the region of £40-50k depending on experience, a company car will be provided for site visits.
