Energis is recruiting on behalf of our engineering client who are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team at their South Down site. The successful Mechanical Engineer will support engineering projects from initial technical assessment through installation, commissioning and handover, working closely with customers, manufacturers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate client requirements into engineering specifications
  • Conduct site surveys and confirm installation requirements
  • Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and production teams
  • Plan project logistics, access, and equipment requirements
  • Prepare risk assessments, method statements, and commissioning documentation
  • Support installation, testing, and handover activities
  • Provide technical support for service and maintenance
  • Communicate closely with customer at all stages of the process

Requirements

  • Third level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in mechanical design, industrial equipment, materials handling or similar
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills
  • Customer focussed with good communication skills
  • Willingness to work on-site as required
