Our client is a well-established and growing engineering company seeking to appoint a Supplier Quality Engineer as part of continued business expansion. The role will be based at their HQ in CO Down, and offers the opportunity for progression within the company. The successful candidate will work closely with key suppliers, evaluating product quality and overall delivery performance against established standards across major projects. You will be responsible for ensuring all materials and equipment sourced from approved suppliers are delivered on time and meet the required quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate suppliers through audits and performance assessments, monitoring supplier quality metrics.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers.
- Ensure supplier compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and response times to support production continuity and on-time delivery.
- Develop and maintain supplier quality documentation and procedures.
- Carry out inspections and testing to verify quality standards and identify defects where necessary.
- Implement supplier approval programmes and conduct supplier audits.
- Prepare reports detailing quality performance and audit outcomes.
- Travel to supplier sites as required.
Criteria
- Previous experience in Supplier Quality or a similar quality control role.
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits approximately once per month.
- Familiarity with quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001.
- Experience in quality inspection, auditing, and testing methods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple suppliers effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Package
Salary is in the region of £38,000 - £44,000, depending on experience. The role also offers an attractive benefits package including pension and life assurance.
