Based in County Down, our client is a successful and established engineering company currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer. This role has arisen due to ongoing business growth. The successful Supplier Quality Engineer will work closely with key suppliers, assessing their product quality and overall delivery against predefined criteria for all major projects. You will ensure all materials and plant from the approved supplier list are delivered on time and to required quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating suppliers, conducting audits, and assessing supplier quality metrics.
  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and response times to ensure production continuity and on-time delivery.
  • Developing and implementing supplier quality-related documentation.
  • Conducting tests to ensure quality or detect defects.
  • Implementing supplier approval programmes and conducting audits.
  • Preparing reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities.
  • Travel to supplier sites as required.

Criteria:

  • Proven work experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or relevant experience in a quality control position.
  • Ability to travel for supplier visits.
  • Familiar with quality management systems (ISO 9001).
  • Experience with quality inspection, auditing, and testing methods.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills to monitor and keep track of multiple suppliers.
  • Strong communication skills.

Salary is in the region of £40k dependent upon experience. The role comes with a range of benefits including pension and life assurance.
