Based in Co Down, our client is a well-established engineering business who, due to continued business success, have a need for an additional Process Engineer to develop and implement process controls that drive consistency and high-quality output. As the successful Process Engineer, you will focus on enhancing workflow and minimizing waste across manufacturing value streams. You will support the seamless introduction of new products and processes, applying standardised methodologies to ensure smooth integration into production.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and develop control plans to strengthen process control and enhance product quality.
- Create and maintain detailed production process maps with associated improvement plans to optimise workflow and minimise waste.
- Conduct process audits and identify areas for improvement in terms of safety, quality, productivity, cost and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and analyse manufacturing process data, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to drive performance improvements across production operations.
- Ensure up-to-date Standard Operating Instructions are in place for all processes and products across the manufacturing and assembly value streams.
- Implement process control measures, including statistical process control (SPC) techniques, to enhance consistency and reduce variation.
- Play a key role in the introduction of new products and processes, ensuring seamless integration into manufacturing.
- Take an active role in lean improvement initiatives.
- Track and report on KPI’s, supporting continuous improvement activities.
Criteria:
- Previous relevant experience as Process Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and compliance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to read and interrogate engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail, self-motivated, open to change and experience as a lead, ability to mentor.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
